Intro

how to build sustainable communities
Developers, Local Authorities, housing associations, and others charged with improving housing and communities, are being challenged to do so in a sustainable way.  We can review all or parts of your proposed plans or existing communities and developments, and identify specific solutions to enhance social, environmental and economic sustainability. More specific support on key issues (eg energy) can also be provided.

good homes
With all new publicly funded housing currently having to achieve Code Level 3, and with all residential developments needing to reach Code Level 6 by 2016, there are real opportunities for those who take the lead.  As a qualified assessor organisation for BREEAM Code for Sustainable Homes, afsc provides support on the Code (new homes) and Ecohomes (refurbished homes) for domestic developments.  Our technical knowledge is complemented by an understanding of the importance that attitudes and behaviour towards the environment issues play in supporting sustainability goals.

renewables4communities
The bewildering array of renewable energy technologies, and installers waiting to offer solutions, can leave you struggling to determine which options are best. New Feed in Tariffs (FIT) are also making renewable energy appear a more attractive proposition but are still confusing to most. Making the right choice depends on many factors and requires research, know-how and a passion for renewable energy.  We offer affordable options appraisals, woodfuel feasibility studies, as well as support with funding applications, planning and consultation, for schools, businesses, community groups and others looking to exploit the benefits of renewable energy.
